Break free from waste.
Bond with the future.

Introducing Kiilto Pro Debond, our signature product powered by Debonding on Demand (DoD) technology.
It’s a proven adhesive solution that forms strong, durable bonds, and releases easily when needed.

What is Debonding on Demand (DoD)?

Strong when you need it.
Smart when you don’t.

DoD is a breakthrough adhesive technology that performs like a traditional adhesive, until it’s time to release. The release process is activated through exposure to energy, either in the form of heat or microwaves. Once heated to a specific trigger point the adhesive rapidly loses most of its strength. The result? Strong bonding when it matters. Effortless release when it doesn’t. No damage. Less energy.

How it works

Apply

Apply Kiilto Pro Debond just like a conventional adhesive.

Bond

Materials stay securely bonded during everyday use.

Debond

Heat to a specific temperature and separate without damage.

Reuse

Give materials a second life through repair, reuse, or recycling.

CASE MARTELA & NORNORM

How Debonding on Demand is changing furniture manufacturing for good.

For too long, adhesives have been designed to create only permanent bonds, making material separation and reuse difficult and contributing to unnecessary waste. But it doesn’t have to be that way. This groundbreaking innovation is already proving its value in furniture design, repair, and refurbishment thanks to real-world applications with Martela and NORNORM.

Scaling circularity across industries

For the first time, multi-layered bonded materials can be separated without damage, enabling reuse and recycling across a wide range of sectors:

Construction & Renovation
Remove bonded tiles or panels easily, no damage, no demolition.
e.g. kitchen tiles, bathroom panels, flooring, wall coverings, wallpaper.

Shipbuilding
Simplify maintenance and extend vessel lifecycles with smart bonding.
e.g. interior panels, flooring, insulation, modular fittings.

Furniture
Enable disassembly and recycling of complex fabric constructions.
e.g. bonded seams, shoe soles, multi-material garments.

If your process involves bonding, we need to talk.

We’re already seeing success across industries but that’s just the beginning. If your industry could benefit from strong bonds that release on demand, we’d love to explore the possibilities together.

Built on sustainable thinking

Kiilto is a family-owned Finnish company with a century-long commitment to creating a better future. We understand that achieving circularity requires deliberate innovation, collaboration, and a shared commitment to rethinking how materials are used and reused.

That mindset has been part of our story from the very beginning. Founded in 1919, Kiilto emerged during a time of significant scarcity, when essential goods and materials were hard to come by. This environment demanded creativity, care, and resourcefulness.

We developed products that met real needs with ingenuity, an approach that continues to guide our research, product development, and partnerships with industry leaders today.
