Alongside high-quality, freshly brewed coffee, skilled staff, and a cup finished to suit individual preferences, thorough cleaning also plays a crucial role. “We clean the espresso machines every evening and, throughout the day, ensure that the equipment is cleaned and wiped down between uses,” explains Lamminparras.

Engaging directly with the customer
Genuinely understanding customers’ real needs was essential for Issakainen during the renewal of Kiilto Pro Coffex. He visited several cafés and restaurants to observe the cleaning processes of espresso and filter coffee machines, aiming to gain a deeper insight into the required product features. As a result, the updated product is now even better suited for both manual and automatic cleaning routines.
Issakainen places great emphasis on understanding the genuine, everyday situations encountered in cafés and restaurants. He cites an example where the thermos jugs intended for coffee and tea have been mixed up: “For the end customer’s experience, it’s essential that no coffee flavour lingers in the tea water due to stubborn residue, especially if thermos jugs get mixed up. Kiilto Pro Coffex effectively removes such build-up, ensuring the quality of the beverage served.”

Over the summer, Issakainen deliberately stained his tea mug as part of the product testing process, with the aim of creating the most stubborn tea-induced discolouration possible on the inside of the cup.
The test, however, could not be completed without issues, as a guest at his cottage had picked up Issakainen’s test mug and, unaware of the experiment, scrubbed it spotlessly clean. The staining project had to be started again from scratch. “Kiilto Pro Coffex has particularly strong bleaching power, which works exceptionally well on stubborn tea stains,” explains Issakainen, displaying his tea-stained mug, from which the area treated with Coffex is now spotlessly white.
