Graphics industry

Digitalisation is bringing about major changes in the graphic industry. Increasingly smaller print runs place new demands on process flexibility.

The graphics industry often sets a strict performance window for adhesives in terms of their properties.

The rounded spine of a hardcover book and the spine of a softcover book require different adhesives, with different elastic properties. Animal protein-based adhesives have traditionally been used for producing book covers, but these have been replaced by synthetic alternatives.

Book manufacturers often apply for the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, and as part of the requirements for the approval, the adhesives used must also be up to date.

Examples of our adhesive solutions

Adhesives for bookbinding

Several different adhesives are needed to bind hardback and paperback books, and the adhesives need to perform flexibly with different materials, regardless of the speed of the manufacturing process.
