In solid wood furniture production, productivity is not defined by pressing time alone. Adhesives must also provide sufficient open time, meaning the period during which components can be assembled after adhesive application and before pressing begins. If open time is too short, the risk of errors and rework increases.
Our approach
Kiilto Pro WRX 3072 was developed to combine a long open time with a short pressing time. This balance leaves sufficient time for assembly while keeping production efficient. In practice, the adhesive remains workable during assembly, but builds bond strength quickly once the components are pressed, supporting a smooth production flow.
Discolouration is a common issue in pine glulam boards
The challenge
In glulam board production, discolouration is often linked to the chemistry of the adhesive. Many traditional D3 furniture adhesives are acidic, which can trigger colour changes in the wood. Especially in pine glulam boards, this may cause reddish tones along the glue line.
Our approach
Kiilto Pro WRX 3072 is pH-neutral and stain-free. This helps preserve the natural appearance of wood in glulam boards where aesthetics matter and glue lines need to remain invisible.
The adhesive is well suited for light-coloured and unpainted pine. It can also be used in veneer applications, where a high-quality lacquer finish is needed.
Formaldehyde content affects production safety
The challenge
Formaldehyde emissions are a recognised health concern in wood processing and furniture production. Many commonly used adhesive products still contain relatively high levels of formaldehyde, which can affect workplace safety.
Our approach
The ultra-low formaldehyde content of Kiilto Pro WRX 3072 is up to 95% lower than that of commonly used adhesive products. This supports safer production conditions by reducing exposure on the production line and helps manufacturers meet increasingly strict workplace requirements.
Reducing environmental impact places new demands on adhesive raw materials

Kiilto Pro WRX 3072 is available with 8% bio-based binder content. The raw materials are sourced from renewable and recycled side streams and by-products.
