Materials
Moisture-curing one-component polyurethane adhesive for bonding engineered wood. The suitability of the adhesive for the materials used and sufficient adhesion to these materials must be ensured through preliminary tests. The adhesive has been tested by the independent MPA University of Stuttgart testing facility and meets the requirements of EN 15425:2023 I 90 GP 0.3 w (adhesive type I) for spruce, pine, and fir. The adhesive does not contain fibers, solvents, or formaldehyde. It meets the M1 emission classification for building materials. This product brochure was written in collaboration with MPA University of Stuttgart.

115 - 150 g/m² finger joints
In some cases, a smaller application amount can be used for finger joints, this must be agreed in advance with Kiilto and with notified body for the building product.
Face bonding:
12 min (20 °C / 65 RH-%, wood moisture content 12±1 %)
- application amount 200 g/m²
- max. 0.1 mm bond line thickness
- EN 15416-5
Fingerjointing:
- Pressing time: 1 s or 2 s, according to EN 15497
- Curing time: 12 min (20 °C / 65 RH-%, wood moisture content 12±1 %)
- The not fully cured jointed timber shall be moved in a way that the curing process is not affected by deformation or vibration. The jointed timber may be further processed if it can be ensured that the curing process and the finger joint strength is not affected.
The bonded product is ready for quality control 4 hours after it has been removed from the press (20 °C / 65 RH-%, wood moisture content 12±1 %, 0,1 mm glue line). If the required conditions and wood moisture content are not met and a thin glue line (0,1 mm) is not guaranteed, it is recommended to wait 24 hours before starting the quality control test.

If the product or machine requires a pressure out of this range, it need to be agreed in advance with Kiilto.

If the moisture content of the wood is less than 8%, sufficient moisture can be achieved by spraying water on the surface of the wood. The amount of water to be used must be agreed in advance with Kiilto. The use of water spraying need to be agreed in advance with Kiilto and with notified body for the building product.
Store in a dry place. In an unopened original package, the shelf life is 9 months at a temperature of +20°C.
When manufacturing products according to the above-mentioned EN standards, the requirements of the product standards for manufacturing conditions must be met.
The surfaces to be glued must be clean of dirt and dust. The adhesive is suitable for use with nozzle and stripe applicators. Apply the adhesive in a uniform layer, either single- or double-sided.
Protective gloves must be worn when handling the adhesive. When spraying and at temperatures above +40°C, a respirator must be used.
The adhesive must still be sticky when pressure is applied and in all cases adhesive squeeze out must be observed in the bond line after pressing. The maximum glue line thickness allowed is 0.3 mm. Press time is 2 hours 30 minutes when a thin glue line (0.1 mm) is not guaranteed.
Open time and pressing time depend significantly on the gluing conditions, such as air and wood moisture, air and wood temperature, glue joint thickness, wood absorbency, and amount of adhesive. The values given in this product brochure can only be considered as advisory starting points. Before full-scale production, the product’s performance must be checked with the production parameters.
The product is highly shear-thinning, so its use does not lead to over-pressure problems in adhesive application equipment. The graph below shows the viscosity as a function of shear rate.
Wet glue stains can be removed with a dry cloth and the surfaces cleaned with acetone or Kiilto Cleaner 307. Cured adhesive can only be removed mechanically.
Kiilto Pro SW NP Oil can be used to store glue nozzles to prevent the glue from hardening.
