The flame retardant should be applied on clean plywood surface using spray, roller, brush, or dipping methods. For other application methods, contact the R&D. To improve penetration, the surface may be planed, sanded, or heated before application. It is recommended to use as freshly manufactured plywood as possible, especially with softwoods due to resin buildup at the surface. To reach the fireclass Bs1d0 apply 180-240 g/m2 of the flame retardant. Can be applied as multiple layers. The required amount depends on the material. It is beneficial to dry the surface after application. Drying temperature should not exceed 180 C.
The flame retardant is not designed to be painted over. Painting over of other surface coatings are not recommended, because they will alter the fire performance of the treatment detrimentally.
