Application

Kiilto XPU is a fast bonding, polyurethane-enhanced elastic adhesive sealant based on silyl polymer technology. Suitable for gluing and sealing of various materials (including weld lines) in structural bondings. Typical applications include truck bodies, mobile homes, buses and trains. In building Kiilto XPU is used e.g. for fixing of insulation panels, battens, washbasins and toilet seats. Suitable also to be used in conjunction with Kiilto one-component waterproofing membranes for sealing wall penetrations and for sealing Tulppa-wet room boards and inlets. Good adhesion on various stones, concrete, most metals, wood, glass and glazed surfaces as well as epoxy and polyester surfaces. With plastic and rubber preliminary adhesive tests are recommended prior to actual use. Has M1-emission classification for building products. Excellent adhesion to different materials - in most cases no need for priming. Elastic, yet mechanically strong bond. Does not contain PVC or solvents. Almost odourless. Good resistance against chemicals (weak solutions). Excellent resistance to weathering and UV-radiation. Almost non-shrinking. Paintable with most paints (test always before use). Sandable.

Instructions for use

Materials to be used must be dust-free, dry and free from grease and oil. The best result is acheived by cleaning metal surfaces with Kiilto Cleaner 303 and then primed with Kiiltoflex Metalliprimer. The adhesive is spread on the surface and smoothed with a trowel, if needed. When gluing large uniform surfaces or surfaces in very dry conditions, we suggest light spraying with water (approx. 5–10 g/m 2 ). Close the package carefully after use. Uncured product can be removed with Kiilto Cleaner 303 or acetone. Cured product can be removed only mechanically. Prevailing conditions such as temperature, substrate’s temperature, material and humidity as well as the amount of adhesive applied have a strong impact on the skin time and drying. Therefore the given values are for guidance only.
