Strikes in Finland continue – here’s how they affect Kiilto’s services

Finland’s biggest labour federation, the Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Unions (SAK), has announced to extend its political strikes for at least this week, mostly affecting ports and major export companies. Kiilto Oy and KiiltoClean Oy have also been announced by unions to be a part of the strikes on 5 April 2024.

Finland’s biggest labour federation, the Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Unions (SAK), has announced to extend its political strikes until 8.4.2024, mostly affecting ports and major export companies. Kiilto Oy and KiiltoClean Oy have also been announced by unions to be a part of the strikes on 5 April 2024.

The prolonged strike situation will cause possible delays in the transportation of raw materials and products. We anticipate that the transport delays will extend beyond the strike period due to congestion. In the event of delays in transport, it is possible that the availability of some of our individual product lines may be temporarily limited.

We will try to minimise the impact of the exceptional situation, but we cannot guarantee normal delivery of orders in the event of a strike as a force majeure.

Kiilto’s customers can contact our subcontracting experts for more information on the impact of the strikes on their deliveries or for assistance with any challenges they may face. Contact details can be found here.
