Instructions for use

Adhesive’s properties depend highly on prevailing conditions, such as moisture of wood and ambient air, temperature, absorbency and amount of adhesive applied, so the given values can be regarded only as guidance. In order to determine the necessary pressing time and ensure the adhesive joint strength, adequate tests are to be carried out before use in full-scale production. A higher temperature shortens the required pressing time. See the instructions given by the foil manufacturer.

The surfaces to be bonded must be free from dust, grease etc. Temperature of the adhesive and the material should be above +15°C. However, the bond strength will be achieved also at lower temperatures (above +3°C), but the drying time will be longer. If using a small amount of adhesive, adequate tests are to be carried out to ensure required strength.

The adhesive can be applied on either the foil or the board. Once applied, press the foil onto the sheet immediately. Use a roller or level press to clamp the pieces together. Since it is crucial that all air is pressed out of the bond, we recommend using a roller press. If using a level press, the surface must be rolled first to get all air out. Coated boards should then be placed in a pile. Allow the boards to set for at least two hours before further treatment.
