Sensitivity to chemicals is a part of our everyday life and not all that rare these days. Due to this, there is an increasing need for products that have a mild fragrance or that are fragrance-free.
Fragrance allergies are a sensitive issue
According to the Finnish Allergy, Skin and Asthma Federation, 10–40% of our population suffer from multiple chemical sensitivity.
Sometimes even a mild fragrance may be too strong, making it better to play it safe and buy a fragrance-free product, but what do people actually expect from a fragrance-free product?
Is the product allowed to have any fragrance at all or is it assumed that a fragrance-free product has no fragrance?
