Kiilto Multiplan DF Lattiatasoite 3–50 mm
A dust reduced and fibre-reinforced floor screed for building slopes for floors with underfloor heating. Suitable both for warm water tubing and electric cables. Also suitable for general floor levellings. Low alkali.
- dust reduced, fibre-reinforced, multi-purpose, pumpable
- ideal for underfloor heating floors and building floor slopes, general levellings
- coverage 1.7 kg/m²
- walkable: 1–3 h
- coatable: 30 mm/1-2 d, 50 mm/3 d
- interior areas
A floor-levelling compound containing reinforcing fibres for indoor use. For floors with either warm water tubing or electric cable heating.
The substrate must be clean and solid. Remove cement laitance and paint splashes, and brush or vacuum the floor thoroughly. Pay special attention to the condition of floor with underfloor heating - it must withstand the tension caused by thermal radiation.
Concrete subfloors are pre-treated with 1:4 diluted Kiilto Start Primer or Primer One (20% Kiilto Primer/80 % water) prior to application of the floor screed. Surfaces under reconstruction as well as board surfaces must be primed with undiluted Kiilto Start Primer or Kiilto PrimerOne before levelling. Non-absorbent substrates, such as ceramic tiles or painted surfaces, can be treated also with Kiilto Fix Primer.
Floors with underfloor heating: The substrate must be sanded and cleaned well before primer and levelling compound to ensure proper adhesion.
Install underfloor heating tubes/cables according to the manufacturer's installation on the dry primer/bond layer. Then apply the levelling compound.
A low alkaline screed layer protects the adhesive and vinyl coating from the damage caused by alkaline moisture in the concrete. The studies have shown that a 5 mm thick screed layer provides the protective effect.
The concrete substsrate must comply with national standards.

Fill the mixing container with the required amount of clean water. Strew powder slowly while stirring in cool (+10–25 °C), clean water until a smooth flexible mass is formed. Let the mix mature for approx. 2 minutes, stir once more before use.
Apply screed evenly by using a steel or notched trowel. Ensure that the cables and the cable mat or water tubes are properly embedded in the screed to ensure even heat distribution and proper adhesion between the screed and the substrate. The layer must be dry before a new layer is applied.
The drying of the screed must not be accelerated by heat or ventilation, since too quick a drying may cause hair cracks. If the temperature in the levelled room is higher than normal, the relative humidity very low, or if the levelled floor surface is exposed to direct sunlight, we recommend covering the floor with a tarpaulin or treating with Kiilto 704 BSP Jälkihoitoaine agent as soon as it is dry enough to allow walking. The floor should be covered with a flooring relatively soon after it has hardened and dried. This will prevent the surface from over drying, cracking and becoming loose.
The surface temperature of the underfloor heating floor should not exceed +28 °C.
In large applications, consider the need for movement joints (wall-floor junctions, penetrations, in long spaces (aspect ratio over 2:1) movement joints every 5 meters, partition of large areas in smaller sections etc.)
The floor covering can be installed 1-3 days after the levelling in favourable drying conditions ((20 ºC, 50 % RH). The screed reaches good surface strength fast and chemically binds the measured water. Substrate's high moisture content and poor drying conditions will lengthen the drying time. Follow national standards and the coating manufacturer's instructions on reference values of substrate moisture content. Consider the entire construction, when planning the covering of the substrate.
Suitable also for floors that are going to be painted in secondary rooms with light traffic, but not, for example, in garages or for bathroom floors. In areas where waterproofing is used, e.g., bathroom floors, floor levelling should be applied under the waterproofing membrane. In underfloor heating floors in dry areas, you can also use waterproofing membrane between the screed and the tiling to diminish the stress in the tiling coming from the subfloor.
Not suitable for areas permanently under water (e.g., swimming pools).
Note! Avoid excessive use of water, since it will weaken the surface strength and may cause separation or cracking.
