Materials
Kiilto Flex is a low-emission, M1 adhesive for the elastic gluing of parquets. Remember that block parquet should be glued directly onto concrete when board substrate is not an option due to, e.g., underfloor heating.

Refer to national directions and parquet manufacturer's instructions on ambient conditions during installation and use.
Suitable substrates are steel-trowelled and unsmoothed concrete (K 35 or stronger), board or wooden floor. The substrate must be dry, solid, smooth and clean, and free from dust and other materials that might impair adhesion. If needed, smooth the substrate for mosaic parquet with a suitable Kiilto levelling compound (e.g., Fiberflex). Suitable board substrate is min. 9 mm thick plywood or similar. Always follow the parquet manufacturer's instructions as well as any national directives as regards installation. Elastic adhesive reduces the stress on the substrate due to moisture movement in wood, but enables dimensional movements and deformations.
The temperature and humidity in the room should be normal during installation. Let the parquet as well the adhesive acclimatise to normal room temperature and humidity before installation. Apply adhesive evenly with a serrated trowel on an area that can be covered within approx. 30 minutes. Press the parquet properly onto the substrate. Check that the back of the parquet panel is properly wetted with adhesive. No tongue-and-groove gluing. Leave a space of 10–15 mm between the parquet and solid structures, e.g., wall and the parquet. Depending on the circumstances, wait for 24–48 h after gluing before sanding and lacquering. Fresh adhesive stains can be removed with white spirit. Dried adhesive can only be removed by mechanical means.
