A cement based pumpable floor screed for castings, fillings and construction of slopes at thicknesses 20–200 mm in interior areas. Carefully floated surface is ready for waterproofing. For finishing the floor prior to floor covering we recommend Kiilto levelling compounds.
1. Bonded floor / firm concrete subfloor: The substrate must be clean, solid and firm. Remove cement laitance, paint splashes, adhesive residue and other impurities and brush or vacuum the floor properly. Prime concrete and screed substrates with water-diluted Kiilto Start Primer (1 part Primer, 4 parts water) before spreading the floor screed. Very absorbent substrates are primed twice. Brush the primer onto the substrate 1/2 - 24 h prior to screed application. Avoid primer bonds in hollow spots.
2. Floating construction / weak concrete subfloor and various construction board substrates:
The cast is separated from subfloor for example with Kiilto Valusuojakangas separation fabric or construction paper.
The cast is detached from walls and inlets with separating boards/elastic sealant.
The thickness of the cast shall be at least 50 mm reinforced construction (e.g. # 150 Ø 5). In underfloor heating floors, the heating cables/pipes are fixed in the concrete reinforcement.

Kiilto 30 is mixed with a suitable automatic mixer. If needed, test the pump’s power before use. Use cool, clean water (+10–20 °C). However, if the powder is cold, it can be mixed with warm water (max +35 °C). The temperature of the screed and the substrate must be min. +10 °C to ensure that the mix gains proper strength. Avoid temperatures above +25 °C, since too fast setting of the mix is likely to cause problems in pumping.
The mixed screed is pumped on the substrate through a rubber hose and is then spread with a darby and / or a wide steel trowel. Note that the suitable time for rubbing is strongly depended on the prevailing conditions.
After pumping, clean the machines with clean water immediately. The cast must be dry before finishing with the surface with floor levelling compound.
If the temperature in the room is higher than normally, the relative
humidity very low, or if the floor surface is exposed to direct
sunlight, we recommend covering the floor with a tarpaulin or treat it with Kiilto Care curing and dust binding agent as soon as it is dry enough to allow walking. The floor should be covered with a flooring relatively soon after it has hardened and dried. This will prevent the surface from over drying, cracking and weak bond.
If the floor won’t be covered with a flooring within 14 days from levelling, the levelled floor must be treated with e.g. Kiilto Care curing and dust binding agent the next day from the levelling at the latest.
100 mm layer is ready for waterproofing after approx. 3 d, and 200 mm layer after approx. 7 d in favourable drying conditions (+20°C, RH 50 %). Substrate’s high moisture content and poor drying conditions will retard the drying of the screed. In installation of flooring, follow national regulations and flooring manufacturer’s specifications on substrate’s moisture.
On larger surfaces, consider the need for movement joints.
Not recommended for floors that will be painted.
Not recommended for applications where the parquet will be glued down the subfloor.
In areas where waterproofing is used, e.g. bathroom floors, the cast should be applied under the waterproofing membrane.
Not suitable for areas permanently under water (e.g. swimming pools).
Note! Avoid excessive use of water!
