Environmental sustainability: key figures

In Kiilto Assens, Denmark production tripled due to the corona virus, but energy consumption did not increase in the same proportion.
Today, Kiilto Turku, Finland is able to produce the required amount of steam itself. Some of the steam bought before was wasted.
The new solar panels at Kiilto Lempäälä, Finland produce 20 times more energy than the old panels. The investments in geothermal heat and heat recovery in Kiilto Lempäälä’s polymerisation and hot-melt adhesive production generate a significant amount of energy.
The investments in the production of own clean energy have reduced the consumption of natural gas, and thus CO2 emissions have also decreased.
The investments in the production of own clean energy have reduced the consumption of purchased energy, which has also reduced CO2 emissions.
The decrease in CO2 intensity is closely linked to the decreased energy intensity.
