Product waste

Waste legislation defines product waste with hazardous properties as hazardous waste, which must be taken to a collection point for hazardous waste, such as a municipal hazardous waste collection point.

Product waste with hazardous properties is easy to identify from a warning symbol or statement on the product label.

Expired cosmetics, such as moisturiser creams, are mixed waste, but unused hairspray in an aerosol bottle is hazardous waste.

Disposing of them at collection points is free of charge for households.

Consumer packaging waste

KiiltoClean Oy’s plastic packaging is made of polyethylene (PE-HD 02), polypropene (PP 05) or polyethylene terephthalate (PET 01).

Empty plastic and cardboard packaging can be recycled at collection points or disposed of as energy waste.

Aerosol spray bottles or pressure packs are classified as hazardous waste. Unused aerosols must be taken to collection points for hazardous waste.

Completely empty (no sloshing or spray) pressurised metal packaging can be taken to metal collection points.

Finnish households can find suitable collection points via the packaging recycling company, RINKI. Visit the RINKI website for more information on packaging waste and your nearest collection point.
