Kiilto Fiberflex DF Kuitulattiatasoite 2–20 mm

Strong, self-levelling and dust-reduced special floor levelling compound for wooden floors and weak renovation floors. Also for floors to be painted and underfloor heating floors in dry areas. Low alkali. Fibre reinforced.

Special features

  • dust reduced, fibre-reinforced
  • especially for renovation and wooden subfloors
  • paintable
  • walkable 4 h
  • coatable 1–3 d
  • coverage 1.6 kg/m²/mm
  • approx. 12 litres mass/bag

Application

Cement-based levelling compound containing reinforcing fibres and flexibility and adhesion improving additives for concrete, wooden and weak renovation subfloors before laying the floor covering/applying the smoothing compound. Product is almost dustless when mixing. Recommended layer thickness between 2–20 mm. Suitable also for the levelling of small floors (max. 10 m²) with underfloor heating.

The substrate must be clean, solid and strong. Cement-skin, paint splashes and other impurities of concrete subfloor must be removed and the floor should be vacuumed thoroughly.

Concrete subfloors are pre-treated with 1:4 diluted Kiilto Start Primer or Primer One (20% KiiltoPrimer/80 % water) prior to application of the floor screed. Surfaces under reconstruction as well as board surfaces must be primed with undiluted Kiilto Start Primer or Kiilto PrimerOne before levelling. Non-absorbent substrates, such as ceramic tiles or painted surfaces, can be treated also with Kiilto Fix Primer.

Wooden and other renovation subfloors must be sanded and cleaned. Gaps in wooden floors must be sealed with Kiilto Acryl sealant and the solidity of the floor improved with screws, if necessary. Prime with undiluted Kiilto Start Primer.

The concrete subfloor must comply with national standards.

Instructions for use

Fill the mixing container with the required amount of clean water. Strew powder slowly while stirring in cool water (+10-25ºC) until a smooth, flexible mass is formed. Let the mix mature for approx. 2 min. and then remix once before use.

Apply screed evenly by using a steel or notched trowel. The layer must be dry before a new layer is applied.

The drying of the screed must not be accelerated by heat or ventilation, since too quick a drying may cause hair cracks. If the temperature in the levelled room is higher than normal, the relative humidity very low, or if the levelled floor surface is exposed to direct sunlight, we recommend covering the floor with a tarpaulin as soon as it is dry enough to allow walking. The floor should be covered with a flooring relatively soon after it has hardened and dried. This will prevent the surface from over drying, cracking and becoming loose.

Suitable also for floors that are going to be painted in secondary rooms with light traffic, but not, for example, in garages or for bathroom floors, etc.

In areas where waterproofing is used, e.g., bathroom floors, floor levelling should be applied under the waterproofing membrane.

Not suitable for areas permanently under water (e.g., swimming pools).

Note! Avoid excessive use of water, since it will weaken the surface strength and may cause separation or cracking.

Environment and safety

Avoid unnecessary skin contact and exposure with the fresh product, use safety gloves. Refer to material safety data sheet. For information on product and package disposal, go to www.kiilto.com.
