Cement-based levelling screed for correcting floors and making floor slopes in- and outdoors. Approx. 12 l screed per bag. Low-alkali. Cement-based.
Cement-based levelling screed for correcting floors and making floor slopes before over-levelling and/or floor covering installation at thicknesses of 2–30 mm. For over levellings we recommend Kiilto 97, TopPlan or Tasoflex floor levelling compounds. Suitable for interior and exterior use. In exterior applications, minimum layer thickness 5 mm.
The substrate must be clean, solid and firm. Remove cement laitance, paint splashes, adhesive residue and other impurities, and brush or vacuum the floor thoroughly. Concrete subfloors are pre-treated with diluted Kiilto Start Primer (10–20% Kiilto Start Primer/80–90% water) prior to application of the floor screed. Surfaces under reconstruction as well as board surfaces must be primed with undiluted Kiilto Start Primer before levelling. Ensure optimal adhesion in outdoor applications and with non-absorbent substrates by making a bond bridge with, e.g., Kiilto Saneerauslaasti cementitious adhesive with a notched trowel.
1 mm layer/m² solid matter weighs approx. 1.7 kg (approx. 12 litres of screed/bag).

Strew Kiilto 80 powder slowly while stirring in cool (+10–20 °C), clean water until a smooth, flexible mass is formed. Let the mix mature for approx. 2 min., remix once and start spreading.
Apply Kiilto 80 evenly by using a darby float and/or a wide steel trowel. The layer must be dry before a new layer is applied. The drying of the screed must not be accelerated by heat or ventilation, since too quick a drying may cause hair cracks.
If the temperature in the levelled room is higher than normal, the relative humidity very low, or if the levelled floor surface is exposed to direct sunlight, we recommend covering the floor with a tarpaulin as soon as it is dry enough to allow walking.
The floor should be covered with a flooring relatively soon after it has hardened and dried. This will prevent the surface from over drying, cracking and becoming loose.
Suitable also for floors that are going to be painted in secondary rooms with light traffic, but not, for example, in garages or for bathroom floors. In areas where waterproofing is used, e.g., bathroom floors, floor levelling should be applied under the waterproofing membrane.
Not suitable for areas permanently under water (e.g., swimming pools).
Note! Avoid excessive use of water!
Fresh mortar is alkaline and irritates sking and mucous membranes. Avoid unnecessary skin contact. Use of respirator is recommended while mixing and sanding.
See a separate MSDS for detailed safety instruction.
