Application

Kestopur G10 is a 1-component, moisture curing polyurethane adhesive for gluing of wood. The adhesive has been tested by the MPA University of Stuttgart, an independent testing laboratory, and complies with EN 15425:2017 I 70 GP 0,3 (adhesive type I) requirements for spruce, pine and fir. The adhesive does not contain fibres, solvents or formaldehyde. Complies with M1-emission classification for building products. This technical date sheet has been written in co-operation with MPA University of Stuttgart.

Instructions for use

When producing according to a harmonized EN standard mentioned above, values according to product manufacturing standards must be followed for all parameters.

The surfaces to be bonded must be clean and dust-free. Suitable for nozzle and ribbon application. Apply the adhesive in an even layer one or two-sided.

Use safety gloves when using Kestopur G 10 adhesive. Wear a breathing mask if spraying the glue and working in temperature above +40 °C.

The open time and pressing time depend strongly on the prevailing gluing conditions, such as moisture of wood and air, air and wood temperature, bond line thickness, wood’s absorbency and the amount of glue applied, so the values given can be regarded as guidance only. Before full-scale production, preliminary tests are to be made to define sufficient pressing time and adhesive joint’s strength.

The adhesive must still be sticky when pressure is applied and in all cases adhesive squeeze out must be observed in the bond line after pressing. The maximum bond line thickness allowed is 0.3 mm. Press time is 4 hours when a thin bond line is not guaranteed.

Remove fresh adhesive stains with a dry cloth and clean the surfaces with acetone or Kiilto Cleaner 307. Cured adhesive can be removed only mechanically.
