Walls behind sauna stoves
The base for the tiles must not expand or contract with heat, i.e. it must be made of brick or concrete, for example. With panel and board walls, the suitability of the material must be ensured with the manufacturer or importer. The walls behind a sauna stove do not require separate waterproofing or priming. The dry wall surfaces can be prepared with water as the tiling progresses. The waterproofing of the floor must run up the wall approx. 10–15 cm.
Due to the high temperature and thermal deformation in the structure, the adhesive must be as flexible as possible – for example, Kiilto HighFlex S2 DF.
