In 2009 Kiilto installed 332 solar panels on the rooftop of the Kiilto plant in Lempäälä. At that time Kiilto's 66 kWp solar power plant was the largest solar power plant in Finland.
The power plant supplies power to the Kiilto's electricity grid for onsite use. On annual level, the plant produces on average 60.000 kWh (60 mWh) and reduces CO
2 emissions by 60.000 kg. During its estimated lifetime, 35 years, the plant is expected to generate electricity 2.100.000 kWh (2.100 mWh) and reduce CO2 emissions by 2.000.000 kg.
